Here is a collection of my graphic design work I did over the years. Although I have transition to UI/UX design, sometimes I look back at what I did in the past and inspire me to look further than UX design and create something truly meaningful.
The posters, case studies, and zines from this collection are all from small projects I've done in my years at ArtCenter and more.
Mediamorphosis, Objects of Desire :
Marketing for a museum showcasing mediamorphosis (The idea of blending different medias together to create), I created posters and a video that express mediamorphosis and its tone, aesthetic, and vision.
THE COOL WAVE LACMA Video :
A promotional video of a new exhibit for the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey shown in LACMA.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE Poster :
Creating a movie poster that encompasses the movie, but in a organic and abstract way.
Godzilla Case Studies :
Studying different compositions using Godzilla as the subject.
Trade Gothic Specimen :
Creating a 14 page specimen to showcase the beauty of the typeface Trade Gothic using the movie Malcolm X as the subject.
The projects in this section include classes from :
Typography 1-3, Communication Design 1-2, and Design 1-2
I learned many things from graphic design, mainly colors and typography. This was also when I started to learn many of the programs that helped me make these pieces.
In more detail, I learned a lot about type with what typefaces to choose, tracking, kerning, widows, headings, placement, body paragraph lengths, contrast, etc. I also learned how to incorporate colors as well as how to visual communicate ideas to consumers.
These skills all transfer to my UI/UX work and made my work unique compared to others.
